We left Venice, about 70 miles north there was one of those alluring Brown Signs, “Ringling Brothers Circus Museum This Exit”. I’d like to see that she says, I slid off the exit as we only had about 30 miles before our next campground. How long could it take to see a stuffed elephant?
Boy was I to be surprised! No stuffed elephant here. We found a very well organized cultural treat of circus museum, art museum, historic mansion tour, botanical gardens and a theater for the arts.
The photo on the right is the Circus Exhibit Building as viewed from our seats at the restaurant.
I think the keynote exhibit was the HUGE model of the circus. I never realized that these traveling show used 4 trains (about 150 cars) and arrived at 4:00am, set up the show, preformed twice, stuct the tents and disappeared that evening at about 11:00. Remember that were transporting the circus with 300 performers, about 1200 labor workers and all the required service staff to keep it all going.
Below are sky shots from the balcony. This one display takes an hour to digest.
Remember the gimmick where a 6’3” clown emerges from a tiny car? Well, they have the car and I was able to talk an innocent by passer to get in. She got about 75% in, we almost had to call for help getting her out. There was noting lady like about it!
She didn't get the job, wrong caliber!
Anne-Marie loves Banyan Trees, check this link for a great view up close and personnel.
Lets remember that there is no ‘X’ in Christmas!
