Update: I was unable to send message below due to slow I-net. Our travel from Homer to Seward was uneventful. Weather is cool and drippy rain. I’m sending this Friday afternoon.
Trivia: Minnesota is land of 10,000 lakes. Alaska has 3 Million!
Our good news is that Wayne Rettburg is scheduled to be sent home soon ! This will depend on his studying up for some tests. Good Luck Wayne!
3 of our 4 days here have been wet, cold, windy and generally uncomfortable. Very good for doing laundry, taking naps and reading books we have on our Kindles. We got cabin fever (Correct term is Hitch-up Fever) and went to dinner at Fat Olives. They had very good seafood and Italian, very expensive, as is the case with about every eatery up here. Lunch for 2 with a beer for me is $50!
Not too much to photograph when the weather closes up like this.
On Thursday a group of about 15 rented a boat, went to sea and promptly caught their limit (2) of wonderful halibut. I didn’t go as fishing in the cold rain does not excite me. They did report that almost everyone had the opportunity to purge their upper G.I. systems!
Today we tow about 200 miles to Seward, AK where we will stay 4 days, sure hope the weather is better there.
If your only tool is a hammer, pretty soon every problem looks like a nail!
