Deming, N.M. 2013

DSCN1985

I snapped this picture at sunset {Sun is over my right shoulder} last night.  It is the best representation I have ever gotten of the awesome mountains out here in the south west.  We are overnighting at a Passport America in Deming New Mexico, this is a pretty nice view for $11 per night!  We hope to be in Benson, AZ at Saguaro CO-op for the next 2 weeks or so.

Flashback to San Angelo :  They have a wonderful series of Murals painted around town.  At each one, you can call a prerecorded description of the item.  Elmer Kelton was a famous, local newspaper man and author.  This mural is about 20’ square!

IMG_2142Our biggest serving of Serendipity was served up on Sunday afternoon while we were cruising the Old Town in San Angelo.  We came upon an event at the local museum that will remain with us for a long while.  The West Texas Jazz Orchestra was giving a Jazz concert.  They had a  15 piece Orchestra that kept our feet tapping  for 3 hours, they even served light refreshment at the break, FOR $5!  Please note this is my first attempt at this.  Dance like nobody’s watching Fred, who is 94 years young!
